Man stabbed in neck after argument over cell phone

INDIANAPOLIS – One man is in the hospital after police say he was stabbed in the neck early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the Springhill Apartments in the 6400 block of Spring Hill Drive around 2 a.m.

When they arrived on scene, officers say they found a thirty-six year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the neck.

Investigators say two men got into an altercation over a cell phone and twenty dollars. When they started struggling, the suspect used a box cutter to stab the victim in the neck, police say.

The victim was transported to Eskenazi in serious but stable condition.

According to police, the suspect lives in the area and is at large.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
