INDIANAPOLIS – A man was killed after officers say he crashed his motor scooter on the city’s near northwest side early Monday morning.

Officers responded to the crash near the intersection of West 16th Street and Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Street around 1 a.m.

Emergency personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police on scene say the crash happened when the scooter struck the curb. Officers are working to determine what caused the scooter to hit the curb.
