INDIANAPOLIS (June 16, 2015) – A man died after a crash on the northwest side of Indianapolis Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on the southbound I-65 ramp to 465 southbound at mile marker 123 around 10 a.m., according to Indiana State Police.

A truck driver experienced mechanical problems and parked his Freightliner with a box trailer on the right side emergency lane. The driver had placed emergency triangles behind the truck to signal that there was a problem.

A 2009 Chevrolet pickup slammed into the parked truck, leaving no indications of an evasive maneuver or brake marks. The Marion County Coroner’s Office said the driver of the pickup died at the scene.

The driver of the semi truck, Ronald Johnson, 47, Dayton, Ohio, went to Eskenazi Hospital after complaining of pain in his arm.
