INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 17, 2015) – A car ran into a church on the city’s near southeast side Monday.
Police were called to the 3500 block of Orange Street around 1:30 p.m. on a report of a structure collapse.
When they arrived they found a car crashed into the corner of Penick-Messiah A. M. E. Zion Church and was completely totaled.
There were people inside of the church, but they were evacuated.
According to police, two men were arguing in front of the church, and one man tried to run the other man down.
The driver missed and crashed into the corner of the church.
The driver suffered minor injuries, and there are charges pending against him.
The extent of damage to the building is unknown at this time.
