BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— An Indiana man convicted in a 2001 fatal crash is now facing charges for driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.
The Bloomington Herald-Times reports an Oct. 26 hearing has been set for Alan Thompson.
Authorities allege his car collided with a sport utility vehicle Monday as he pulled into his driveway. The SUV’s driver was injured. Police allege Thompson failed sobriety tests and officers found a medication he didn’t have a prescription for.
Thompson served time for driving while intoxicated resulting in death and driving while intoxicated resulting in serious injuries. In 2001, his vehicle crossed a center line and struck two vehicles, killing one person and seriously injuring another.
It’s unclear if Thompson has an attorney. A call to a listed number went unanswered Sunday.
