Carl Rice was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in March 2018.

Alexis Cole pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal, carrying a handgun without a license and intimidation in Nov. 2017. In Dec. 2017, She was sentenced to probation.

Echols pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit battery in Oct. 2017.


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — U.S. marshals in Ohio arrested three people in connection with a fatal shooting on Indianapolis’ east side last month.

Officers found Robert Curry inside a hotel room in Miamisburg, Ohio, on May 25. Investigators in Indianapolis say Curry shot and killed Carl Rice late last month.

Marshals say Curry was armed but cooperated with law enforcement.

Curry has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and carrying a handgun without a license. Police said Curry also faces battery charges in Hendricks County.

Alexis Cole, 19, was also arrested. Cole faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a handgun with a license. A third person, 21-year-old Mariah Echols, is charged with assisting a criminal.

While Curry is in the Hendricks County Jail awaiting transfer to Marion County, Cole and Echols are in an Ohio jail awaiting extradition to Indiana.
