KOKOMO, Ind. (March 25, 2016) — On Saturday, several law enforcement agencies will team up with Lowe’s to hand out blue light bulbs to help the community “go blue” in honor of fallen Deputy Carl Koontz and injured Sergeant Jordan Buckley.

Deputy Koontz was shot and killed March 20, while serving a warrant in Russiaville. Sergeant Buckley was also wounded in the incident, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

Indiana Conservation Officers, the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office, the Kokomo Police Department and the Fraternal Order of Police will be handing out around 500 bulbs for free.

They’ll be at the Lowe’s at 4005 South Lafountain Street in Kokomo from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, following a motorcycle ride honoring the deputy.

A goodwill donation will be accepted and distributed by the Kokomo chapter of F.O.P to the families of Deputy Koontz and Sergeant Buckley.
