Lafayette Police make two arrests in Christmas murder

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Jan. 4, 2015) — Lafayette police make two arrests in connection with a murder discovered on Christmas Day.

A man was killed and left in the 3300 block of US 52 South, where the body was found on December 25, 2014.

Now, after an extensive investigation, the Lafayette Police Department has arrested William A. Paz for murder. The 42-year-old is formerly from Indianapolis, but most recently resided in the Lafayette area.

26-year-old Juan Alberto Imul Pop was also arrested. He is charged with assisting a criminal, obstruction of justice, and failure to report a dead body.  Pop was currently living in Mansfield, Ohio, but also recently lived in Lafayette. Pop is being held in the Richland County, Ohio jail pending extradition.
