Kroger hopes to fill more than 300 positions in Indianapolis area

INDIANAPOLIS , Ind. (June 28, 2015)- Kroger is looking to fill 300 open position at its stores in the Indianapolis area.

The company is hosting a three-day job fair this week to interview potential applicants.

The job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The grocery store chain is looking to fill a variety of positions at stores in the metro area.

Open positions include cashiers, bakery and deli workers, and even executive and sous chefs for the bistros the company is placing in some of its stores.

Workers could start off making more than $10 an hour, depending on experience.

Kroger says it’s looking for some specific qualities in potential employees.

“So it’s as much the kind of person and how they conduct themselves and how we think they’ll get along with each other in a fast-paced work environment with their colleagues, but also how they’ll treat the customers,” said John Elliott, the spokesperson for Kroger.

Applicants are encouraged to apply online at before coming to the hiring fair.

Kroger has more than 1,000 open positions statewide right now.

Here’s a list of other job fairs Kroger plans to hold in the coming weeks:

  • Tuesday, August 4: Bloomington Kroger (1175 College Mall Road) 9am-6pm
  • Thursday, August 6: Indianapolis Hiring (Center 5341 E. Thompson Road) 10am-7pm
  • Tuesday, August 11-Thursday August 13: Drury North (8180 Shadeland Avenue) 10am-6pm
