IU junior forward Devin Davis cited for possession of marijuana, suspended from team activities

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 12, 2015) – Indiana University basketball player Devin Davis was cited for marijuana possession Monday night.

According to the IU Police Department, police received a complaint of marijuana smoke just after 8 p.m. in Hickory Hall at the Union Street Center.

Police went to the second floor apartment, and they asked for permission to search it.

Officers found marijuana in a backpack, and Davis was cited for possession of marijuana under 30 grams.

Davis was not placed under arrest.

Davis is a junior on the IU basketball team, but her missed the entire 2014-2015 season after he was hit by a car in October 2014 driven by his teammate Emmitt Holt.

According to a statement released by the IU men’s basketball team, Davis is suspended from all team activities. Any additional action related to Davis’ status will occur after further review of this matter.

The statement also revealed that  junior Hanner Mosquera-Perea was present at the time of the incident but was not charged by IUPD. Mosquera-Perea’s role, if any, will also be reviewed as part of this matter.
