MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (March 2, 2016) — The Morgan County Coroner released the name of the man who was killed on the job Wednesday morning.

The coroner identified the victim as 50 year old Rickey A. Brewer from Danville.

Brewer was a foreman for CB&I, the company hired by Indianapolis Power & Light to build the new Eagle Valley power plant just North of Martinsville.

The Morgan County Coroner ruled the death accidental and said the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Brewer was pinned between a semi and trailer just inside the contractor entrance to the construction site.

A 911 call for help came in around 7:00 a.m.

A medical helicopter was requested, but Brewer died at the scene.

IPL spokesperson, Brandi Davis-Handy says this was an unfortunate incident.

“IPL offers its deepest condolences to the friends family and coworkers of this contractor,” said Davis-Handy.

Construction on the new power plant halted after the incident.

Operations were not affected at the current power plant.

In 2012, a contractor lost their life at the Harding Street plant, and another was killed in March 2007.
