UPDATE (March 30, 2018) — Diontae Evans and Devaughn Farmer pleaded guilty to aggravated battery. All other charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal. They were sentenced to 9 years in prison, with 3 years suspended. They’ll serve 4 years in the Department of Correction and 2 years in Community Corrections.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IMPD detectives arrested two men in connection with a 2015 murder investigation.

On Tuesday, June 7, detectives arrested Diontae Evans, 19, and Devaughn Farmer, 19, on arrest warrants for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.

These suspects are accused of killing Dazjuan Lyle, 19, on March 5, 2016 in the 600 block of North Exeter Avenue. Detectives believe robbery was the motive in this shooting.

During the arrest of Farmer, North District Narcotics Detectives served a search warrant in the 3900 block of Rue Renoir, where two handguns, a large stash of marijuana, and a large quantity of cash were seized.

Evans and Farmer are currently in the Marion County Jail. They have their initial hearings today.
