ANDERSON, Ind. – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a man’s shooting death in Anderson.

Police say 25-year-old Montez McCloud was found dead in a yard in the 1700 block of Jefferson Street at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

During the subsequent investigation, police received information that 30-year-old James Stewart was the shooter. They were also told the shooting stemmed from some type of altercation between McCloud and two women associated with Stewart.

Police later questioned Stewart at the Anderson Police Department and charged him with murder.

Stewart is being held without bond at the Madison County Detention Center, pending arrangement.
