SHERIDAN (April 9, 0215) – Police arrested a suspect after a Hamilton County man was stabbed 13 times during a weekend robbery.

Shaun Tolan, 23, was arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon. Preliminary charges against him include robbery, criminal confinement, battery with a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. Investigators from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said tips led them to Tolan.

The arrest followed a Sunday morning incident at a Sheridan home in the 200 block of East 7th Street. A 25-year-old man said he was stabbed and robbed; the victim suffered stab wounds to the chest and neck. He called for help and went to an area hospital, where he was released with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim said Tolan took electronics from his home, including Xbox and PlayStation videogame consoles. Police believed they knew who was responsible for the stabbing and robbery. Investigators described the encounter as an “isolated incident” and said it may have been drug related.
