MUNCIE, Ind. (May 7, 2015)– A 7-year-old Muncie boy is recovering after being hit by a stray bullet Wednesday night at 7th Street and Ebright Street, less than one block away from a park.

Police say teens were fighting before firing off at least 10 rounds. The target was likely a car driving down the street. The car was struck once and the driver fled on foot.

The boy suffered injuries to his right hand and abdomen and a 17-year-old male was hit in the left hip. The boy is currently in critical but stable condition. The current condition of the other victim is unknown, but he is expected to be OK.

Two houses on 8th Street were also struck by bullets.

Police are looking for several individuals in connection with the shooting: Treyvon Bennett, 19, an unidentified 16-year-old suspect and at least five others. Bennett is considered armed and dangerous.
