Person dies in shooting on near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a deadly shooting on the near northwest side Wednesday morning.

A report of shots fired came in just before 4:40 a.m. in the 1000 block of W. 35th Street.

Police confirmed one adult male was found who had been shot.

The man, later identified as 28-year-old Anthony D. Carter, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries.
