INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Although Broad Ripple Bark Park didn’t win Beneful’s Dream Dog Park makeover contest, it was still awarded a $15,000 prize.

The Indianapolis dog park came in second, losing to Raleigh’s Millbrook Dog Park, which won a $30,000 makeover.

Around 20,000 votes were cast in the contest, which used social media to pit seven U.S. cities against each other.

“Our team extends congratulations to Raleigh and the Millbrook Dog Park. Through this contest, we asked for help and our community responded in record numbers,” said Linda Broadfoot, Director of Indy Parks. “We are so proud of the people who voted for us, many of them voted daily and encouraged others to do the same. Thank you for supporting Indianapolis and our parks.”

Indy Parks says it’s planning a community celebration to officially thank its dog park customers, contest supporters and the larger community. Details on the event have not been announces yet.
