Carmel, Ind. (August 30th, 2015) — One of the oldest ethnic festivals in central Indiana is wrapping-up on Sunday.
The Indianapolis Greek Festival has been around for 42 years. Organizers describe the event as a 3-day family picnic, known for authentic food and pastries — some which can only be found locally once a year at the festival.
This year, organizers say the good weather helped bring-in big crowds.
“This has been one of our most successful Greek Fests ever — we’re accustomed to feeding and entertaining about 15 thousand guests. We don’t have our numbers in yet, but we know it’s been great, it’s been fantastic.” said event spokesperson Mary Lee Pappas.
