Watch Peyton Manning’s statue unveiling and speech

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After a lot of anticipation, Peyton Manning had his statue unveiled outside of Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday afternoon in a ceremony that began at 3 p.m.

The schedule for speakers was follows:

  • Jeff Saturday
  • Roger Goodell
  • David Letterman
  • Jim Irsay
  • Peyton Manning

The ceremony took place on the north plaza outside of Lucas Oil Stadium.

It was free and open to the public. Gates opened at 12 p.m. (located at the corner of Capitol and South streets.) The first 20,000 fans received a special edition poster of #18.

The ceremony took about an hour and features serious and funny stories from a collection of special speakers.

The special guest was none other than David Letterman, who treated his speech like a monologue on the Late Show.

Peyton ended his speech saying, as I told the world a year and a half ago, I will always be a Colt.”
