INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Homicide detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have arrested a man in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Netria Lyons in late June.
Aaron Staton, 35, was taken into custody without incident Monday. He was then transported to the Arrestee Processing Center, where he was charged with murder and possession of a handgun without a license.
On June 28, one of Lyons’ family members found her dead from an apparent gunshot wound in her northwest side apartment around 2:30 p.m. Police said there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment and they didn’t think the incident was random.
