INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police have arrested an Indianapolis man who they believe set a fire at a Motel 8 laundry room early this month.

IMPD and IFD investigators responded to the fire in the 3700 block of North Shadeland Ave. around 5 a.m. on Nov. 4.

All occupants of the motel were evacuated as crews put out the fire and worked to determine its cause.

Investigators say they were able to determine the fire had been intentionally set and an arson investigation began.

With the help of the community, officers were able to identify Rikeeze Ross, 24, as the suspect. He was then arrested and charged with two counts of Arson, both Level 4 Felonies, for the endangerment of the guests and damage caused to the property.
