INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 5, 2015) — Josh Johnson, your services are no longer needed.

The Indianapolis Colts released the veteran Monday, just a day after he served as the team’s No. 2 quarterback against Jacksonville. The team signed Johnson on Oct. 2 to provide additional depth as Andrew Luck recovers from a shoulder injury.

Johnson has played in 29 NFL games (starting five of them) and completed 96 of 177 passes for 1,042 yards, five touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He’s spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers.

Johnson was drafted in the fifth round (160th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft.
