INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 6, 2015) - The Indiana State Fair kicks off Friday, and that means ride inspections are Thursday at the fairgrounds.
Dozens of rides are set up and ready to be inspected.
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is in charge of inspections to make sure rides are in compliance with state laws.
These inspections are mandatory.
Homeland security agents are looking for anything big or small that could make rides unsafe.
In addition to Thursday, each ride operator also does a daily inspection.
If the rides are not up to code at any point, they could be shut down.
Inspections run from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
