IMPD detective pleads guilty to OWI charges, back on duty

UPDATE (August 5, 2015) – Officer Christopher White entered a guilty plea on OWI charges in Hamilton County.

He was sentenced to 365 days, 363 days of that suspended, 70 day Driver’s License Suspension, 363 days probation, and substance abuse evaluation.

According to IMPD, White is back to duty status.


HAMILTON COUNTY (May 21, 2015) – An Indianapolis Metropolitan police officer faces drunken driving charges after being pulled over early Thursday morning.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy spotted Christopher M. White, 32, Noblesville, weaving and crossing traffic lanes. It happened around 3 a.m. Thursday in the 12800 block of Brooks School Road. After initiating a traffic stop, the deputy put White through field sobriety tests and conducted a certified chemical test that put White’s blood alcohol content at 0.182.

White, who has been with IMPD for seven years, was not on duty and was driving a personal vehicle.

He was booked on a charge of operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated with endangerment, both misdemeanors.

White is currently on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
