IMPD investigating deadly shooting on Indy’s near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a man was killed in a shooting on Indy’s near northwest side Tuesday evening.

The IMPD said officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 1200 block of West 32nd Street around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday. This is right by the intersection of West 32nd Street and Elmira Street.

When officers arrived, they found a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The man has been pronounced dead.

Police later identified the victim as 44-year-old Jonathan Lamont Johnson Sr.
