INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 1, 2015) – Firefighters were called to a residence near 34th St. and Macarthur Ln. around 3 a.m.

When they arrived they found flames coming out of the back of the home.

They say the home has been vacant for about a week. There was a “For Rent” sign out front.

Neighbors say most of the homes in the neighborhood are either rented or vacant. They say there are concerns over the squatters that have been known to stay in the vacant homes.

The fire chief estimated the damage to be worth around $45,000.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what started the fire.
