IFD investigates overnight house fire

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 9, 2016) — No injuries are being reported after a house fire breaks out overnight.

Emergency crews responded to a double residence fire in the 1400 block of Hiatt Street on Indianapolis’ near southwest side around 2 a.m.

Fire crews were able to put the fire out in minutes and board up the house. The homeowners weren’t there at the time of the fire.

The Indianapolis Fire Department said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

While no one was injured in the fire, a neighbor was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after tripping over a fire hose.
