SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. – Shelby County authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Monday night.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene in 9500 block of South State Road 9 around 9:55 p.m.
When they arrived, they found the male victim deceased due to massive trauma. Police identified him Tuesday as 20-year-old Joshua Nathan Turner of Shelbyville. Police said Turner fell from a moving vehicle and was then struck by a passing vehicle going northbound.
Deputies do not have a description of the vehicle that struck him, but they say it appears it was traveling northbound from the scene.
