INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 22, 2015)– Injured IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe posted a photo on Instagram Friday saying he’ll be “knocking out 5ks in no time” after being injured in a fiery crash Monday and rushed to IU Health Methodist Hospital.
He spent time in intensive care and required surgery after the crash before being ruled out of Sunday’s race. He was released from intensive care Wednesday and is expected to make a full recovery.
Ryan Briscoe will replace Hinchcliffe in the 99th running of the Indianapolis Sunday.
