INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Former Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi has been referred for disciplinary action by the Indiana Supreme Court due to evidence first reported  by our news gathering partners FOX59.

It was in the winter of 2010 that FOX59 first reported that Brizzi was a silent partner in a million dollar Elkhart building purchase, and that he also returned money to a drug dealer represented in court by Brizzi’s real estate partner.

Now the Indiana Supreme Court disciplinary commission has found Brizzi didn’t disclose his half interest in the Elkhart building, and he lied about returning the money to the steroids dealer.

Brizzi told FOX59 the commission informed him more than a year ago that it had dropped its inquiry, and he doesn’t understand why the investigators took so long to re-open the case and release their findings.

The former prosecutor faces penalties ranging from a reprimand to disbarment.

Brizzi told us he will appeal the finding.
