INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Around Indianapolis on Friday, hundreds of people in green aprons will collect donations as part of the 14th annual Bankers Life Forget-Me-Not Days to fight Alzheimer’s disease.

More than 200 volunteers are out in their green aprons from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Monument Circle, Georgia Street, outside Circle Center Mall and on Mass Ave.

Anyone who donates will be given Forget-Me-Not flower seeds to plant.

In 2015, over $7,000 was raised and 1,000 seed packets were handed out. Organizers say they hope to exceed that number this year.

One hundred percent of the donations collected go to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indianapolis.

Right now more than five million Americans are living with this disease, including 110,000 Hoosiers.
