FISHERS, Ind. – A Fishers police officer was arrested following a fist fight in Greenwood.

According to police, Charles Kingery and another man got into an argument that turned physical shortly before midnight on Saturday. Kingery allegedly punched the other man in the face.

He was arrested after the incident and booked into the Johnson County Jail on suspicion of battery.

Once Fishers Police Department Chief Thompson learned that Kingery had been arrested, he suspended him and launched an internal investigation. Kingery later resigned from the department.

Kingery has been an officer at the Fishers Police Department since March 2014, and he is assigned to the patrol division.

The case is still under investigation by the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office and a final charging decision has not been made at this time.
