INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A pregnant woman is recovering after being shot on the east side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 6100 block of East 25th Street in response to a person shot.
When they arrived, officers found a 23-year-old woman who had been shot in the shoulder.
She was originally listed in critical condition but was upgraded to stable after she arrived at Eskenazi Hospital.
The family told police she is three months pregnant.
IMPD says they have all people of interest in custody. They are currently trying to determine if the shooting was accidental or if this is a criminal matter.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
