INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 27, 2015)–- An Indianapolis family held a special surprise birthday party Sunday for a 95-year-old World War II veteran.

Air Force Technical Sgt. Frank Alexander, 95, of Indianapolis, served from 1942 to 1945. He is Purple Heart recipient and has many other military honors.

“I come over here and listen to him. We watch videos,” his great-granddaughter Kayla Johnson said. “It’s a blessing not many families get to go through.”
Johnson threw the surprise party and gave her Alexander two shirts that read, “All give some. Some give it all. I gave it all for 95 years.”

“He’s a great person and he deserves every part of it,” Johnson said.

Alexander’s family will be the first to tell you he hasn’t lost his sense of humor. He said he hopes to make it to 100 years old.
From all of us at CBS 4, Happy Birthday Frank!
