GREENWOOD, Ind. (March 8, 2015) —  The Johnson County Sheriff’s department is investigating two reports of bottle bombs being found in yards of Greenwood homes on Sunday afternoon.

Police say they received calls in the 4700 block of Pearcrest Way.

Officials say the explosives are “works bombs”, which are homemade bombs with aluminum foil inside a plastic bottle with house hold cleaners mixed up in the bottle, which is under pressure and explodes when touched.

The explosive team was called to the neighborhood and a robot was deployed to retrieve the bombs.

Sheriff’s deputies said there were four bottle bombs found in the neighborhood and all were secured by the explosion team’s robot.

Witnesses say the explosives may have been placed in the yards late Saturday night, by a white male with a backpack and a black male who are possibly teenagers.

If you have any information about the possible suspects, please contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
