CARMEL, Ind. — Drivers on the north side will need to prepare themselves for week-long road work on Meridian Street.

Beginning around 6 a.m. Saturday, June 18, construction crews plan to close the northbound Meridian Street access ramp to 106th Street.  This closure is planned to last approximately one week as crews complete pavement work.

Eastbound and westbound I-465 access to northbound U.S. 31 and 106th Street will remain available via the new freeway ramps.  The southbound U.S. 31 exit ramps to 106th Street will also remain open.

Message boards will be placed along Meridian Street at 96th Street and 106th Street to alert motorists of the closure and direct them to use the roundabout at 116th Street as an alternate exit or route to return southbound on U.S. 31 and exit at 106th Street.

Then Monday, June 20, crews plan to slightly shift traffic on northbound Meridian Street just south of 96th Street.  Drivers on northbound Meridian Street will use the right two lanes of the roadway to access eastbound or westbound I-465.

Drivers on Meridian Street continuing north to the U.S. 31 freeway will remain in the shifted northbound lanes in the current configuration.
