UPDATE (March 30, 2018) —  Diontae Evans and Devaughn Farmer pleaded guilty to aggravated battery. All other charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal. They were sentenced to 9 years in prison, with 3 years suspended. They’ll serve 4 years in the Department of Correction and 2 years in Community Corrections.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IMPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the city’s west side Saturday evening.

IMPD officers were dispatched to the 600 block of North Exeter Avenue on several reports of shots fired around 6:45 p.m. When officers arrived they found an unidentified male lying outside suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced the male victim deceased. He was later identified as Dazjuan Lyle, 19, of Indianapolis.

Detectives continue to investigative the circumstances that led to his death, but have not yet released additional information. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS. Information shared via Crimes Stoppers should be considered anonymous.
