Decomposing body found on northeast side

(June 13, 2015) – Homicide detectives are investigating a badly decomposed body found on the northeast side of Indianapolis Friday night.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 4500 block of North Dearborn Avenue on a report of a decomposing body around 8:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they notified homicide detectives who confirmed the existence of human remains.

Marion County Forensic Service Agency arrived to begin photographs and gathering evidence.

The Marion County Coroner will determine a cause and manner of death once an autopsy had been performed.

The investigation is on-going at this time.
