Woman arrested, accused of headbutting and cutting man during argument

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. – Police arrested a Bartholomew County woman accused of headbutting a man and attacking him with a knife during an argument.

Deputies were called just before 8 p.m. Saturday to the 200 block of Dawson Street in Columbus, where they found a woman sitting in the front yard. The woman identified herself as Kris Johnson, 44, Columbus.

A man told police he and Johnson got into an argument that started out as a verbal altercation but escalated. He said she headbutted him and cut him under his left toe.

After investigating, police arrested Johnson on charges of battery with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and battery resulting in bodily injury.

Staff at Columbus Regional Hospital evaluated Johnson and the man.
