BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind.– Police arrested a man suspected of drunken driving in Bartholomew County over the weekend.

Around 2:45 a.m. Saturday, a sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle going eastbound on County Road 450 South traveling without headlights on.

The deputy pulled the vehicle over, which had three people inside. The odor of alcohol was coming from inside the car.

The driver, 20-year-old Dakota Stevens of Shelbyville, told the deputy he had been drinking but didn’t realize his headlights weren’t on. He was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, illegal consumption of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Stevens has since been released.
