DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (February 16, 2015) – Police are searching for a missing inmate from Davies County who escaped from the hospital.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Daviess Community Hospital around 11 p.m. Monday night. Workers at the hospital told officers that Shane Michael Alan Cates, 23, escaped custody through a second floor window at the hospital. Officers canvased the area, but were unable to locate Cates.
Cates is about five feet eight inches tall; he weighs 160 pounds; he has brown hair and hazel eyes.
Cates was in custody for assault and aggravated battery, police said.
