LAWRENCE, Ind.– Lawrence police made an arrest Friday in connection with several package delivery thefts in the northeastern part of the city.

As detectives were investigating reports of package thefts, they noticed a similar car was described in several reports. They began to search for a man driving a black Ford Taurus with tape covering one of the taillights.

An officer spotted a vehicle matching the description at a mobile home community. Witnesses identified a photo of the vehicle as the suspect’s car.

A search warrant was granted for the residence the vehicle was registered to. Inside, police found several items that were noted in police reports, such as a monogrammed 3-piece luggage set and a “Frozen” children’s art table.

Police say Michael Allison, 30, of Lawrence, admitted to stealing packages from several residences. He was arrested and charged with theft.

Detectives give credit to reports from citizens giving them leads to be able to find the suspect in this investigation.
