NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. – Police made an arrest after three people were found dead in northwest Indiana Sunday night.
Indiana State Police arrested Sebastian Wedding, 24, Monday morning in Lake County. He faces a preliminary charge of murder.
Around 8 p.m. Sunday, the Newton County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a “man bleeding” at 11422 N. 250 West in Sumava Resorts.
The deputy who arrived at the scene found the bodies of two men and a woman. Investigators said all three individuals suffered “trauma.” An autopsy found all three suffered from multiple stab wounds.
The original call came from a woman who told police there was a man bleeding in her house, Newton County Sheriff Tom VanVleet told the local newspaper. Two other bodies were found in a nearby room.
The Newton County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Justin Babbs, 20, Sumava Resorts; Richard Robert Thomas, 23, Sumava Resorts; and Kimberly Spears, 39, Hammond.
