Man arrested for OWI with 7-year-old son in car in Bartholomew County

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (September 22, 2015) – A man was arrested in Bartholomew County on drunk driving charges with his son in the car.

A deputy with the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop at 25th Street and 500 E around 11:55 p.m.

The deputy spoke with the driver, identified as Anthony Carney, 32, of Memphis, Tennessee. Carney’s 7-year-old son was with him in the vehicle.

Carney appeared to be under the influence, and he was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail.

He faces a preliminary charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence with a minor present.

Carney remains in jail in lieu of a $7,500.00 bond. Carney’s son was released to his mother.
