UPDATE: On August 14, 2016, police released a statement saying Blaine Henson was back in custody after being released before serving his full sentence.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – Police in Johnson County are looking for a man who was improperly released from the Johnson County Jail last month.

According to Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox, Blaine Hansen, 20, was released during the week of July 26 even though he shouldn’t have been. Hansen was due to go to the Department of Correction to serve a year-and-a-half sentence.

Cox said investigators have looked in Indianapolis for him but have been unable to track him down so far. Hansen has an active warrant out for resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident.

Cox said Hansen was released due to a clerical error but didn’t have any specifics.
