INDIANAPOLIS (April 14, 2015) – Crews are responding to a working house fire on the city’s near south side.

Firefighters responded to a call for help just after 2 a.m. on Tuesday in the 600 block of Parkway Ave.

A family of four made it out of the house along with five pets, however one of the family’s dogs did not make it out.

The two children are being treated for smoke inhalation but are expected to make a full recovery.

Crews estimate the fire caused $75 thousand in damages, but it is still unclear what started the fire.

One firefighter was injured while crews responded, but not seriously.

Crews are continuing to investigate. We will post updates as more information becomes available.
