INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — It wasn’t much, but just enough snow fell overnight to cause some problems for drivers around central Indiana Thursday morning.

Roads were icy or snow covered in spots–especially on bridges and overpasses–and drivers on untreated roads were advised to use extra caution. Temperatures stayed below freezing throughout.

INDOT told CBS4 that 27 trucks were out in the Indianapolis area by 2 a.m. By 8 a.m. 60 to 70 trucks were on the roads. INDOT spokesman Chris Myers said the weather turned quickly and “we can only do so much” when that happens.

Traffic maps showed multiple problems around central Indiana. Here’s a look at some of the incidents this morning:

  • Northbound I-69 was closed near State Road 9 in Madison County after a crash involving a semi truck — traffic is still slow here
  • On the east side of Indianapolis, left lanes were blocked on northbound I-465 near Pendleton Pike — has reopened
  • Left and right lanes were blocked on I-465 southbound near U.S. 40/Washington Street on Indy’s west side — has reopened, but traffic is still slow
  • Left 2 lanes of westbound I-70 closed near Rural Street/Keystone Avenue downtown — interstate has reopened
  • Extremely slow traffic along eastbound I-70 near State Road 39 — interstate has reopened, but traffic remains slow
  • Westbound I-74 closed near Ronald Reagan Parkway — this crash has cleared, but traffic is slow
  • Westbound I-70 near State Road 267 closed due to crash — traffic remains slow in the area
  • Part of westbound I-70 closed near Holt Road — The Wayne Township Fire Department says this crash involves more than a dozen vehicles; the ramp is open but traffic is slow
  • Ramp from I-465 northbound to Shadeland Avenue closed after crash involving a semi truck and a fuel spill
  • Crash on southbound U.S. 31 and State Road 32 has slowed traffic in Hamilton County – traffic is flowing smoothly
  • Left two lanes of northbound I-65 closed near I-70 South Split due to crash — this has cleared; drivers could see slowdowns
  • Left lane of southbound I-465 closed near U.S. 36/Rockville Road due to crash — this has reopened

According to Indiana State Police, the majority of problems were north of I-465 heading into Hamilton and Madison counties, although passing lanes on interstates had a thin layer of snow in many areas.

Here’s a breakdown of what we saw this morning in some of our central Indiana counties:

  • Hamilton: Authorities have requested the salting of major roads in the county, with I-69 and State Road 37 being of particular concern
