KOKOMO, Ind. – The victim of the second of two fatal house fires in Kokomo has been identified as a 60-year-old man.

The Howard County Coroner’s Office says Gary Shuch died at the scene in the 2400 block of Rogue Drive shortly after 2 p.m. on Christmas Day.

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday morning, but the coroner says the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation and lab studies.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation as of Tuesday night.

The incident came just a little over a day after a fire in the 900 block of North Morrison Street killed two children and sent five others to the hospital on Christmas Eve morning. A firefighter was also injured, taken to the hospital and then released.
