Child falls into Hendricks County pool

UPDATE (June 19, 2019): Police said the little boy died from his injuries.

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind.– A 2-year-old child was revived Monday after falling into a Hendricks County pool.

The incident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. in the 10000 block of Bradford Road, just east of Ronald Reagan Parkway. When first responders arrived, CPR had been in progress for some time before they transported the child to a hospital.

Police initially confirmed the child had died, but later said doctors were able to regain a heartbeat. The incident is being called a near-drowning.

The child was with a family member at the time of the incident. Police say the child’s prognosis is unknown.
