BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Have a drink out front while the product is produced and bottled in the back! Cardinal Spirits is Bloomington's first artisanal distillery.

The popular Yelp Indy spot is located right on the B-Line on the south side of Bloomington.

Cardinal Spirits specializes in making whiskey, gin, vodka, rum and liqueurs on-site with high quality and local ingredients.

"The craft distilling scene in Indiana is actually a huge scene right now we are very excited to be a part of it," explains co-owner Adam Quirk.

At Cardinal Spirits, all parts of the distilling process  - from fermentation to mashing to aging to bottling - happen on-site in Bloomington.

"When you use our local craft spirit in the daiquiri, the flavor is so noticeable that it tastes like a daiquiri is supposed to taste like." says Quirk.

Each product is hyper local. Black Raspberry Bramble is "like vodka but better" using Indiana raspberries in the distilling process. Songbird Craft Coffee Liquor uses Hopscotch coffee right down the B-Line to give the vodka that fresh, Hoosier flavor.

"There is nothing better than having a cocktail and knowing that it is made my Hoosiers," explains Brittany Smith from Yelp Indy.

Smith also says Yelpers rave about the cocktail menu in the online reviews.

"The Moscow mule. It is a classic bit they have an awesome gin here. You’ve got to give it a try!," says Smith.

Take a tour!

"We are focused on education," explains Adam Quirk.

Yelpers also like the opportunity to see the distilling process. You must be 21 to take a tour of Cardinal Spirits. Tours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. $10 gets you a 45-minute tour and a cocktail of your choice. You also get to sample what they're working on in the distillery. For $42, A VIP tour gets customers a full bottle of your favorite Cardinal Spirit.
